The above photo was taken from the back yard of Borough Coffee, which is located at 204 North Mendenhall Street. It is on the ground floor of the Down Home North Carolina Headquarters. What started out as a coffee cart is now also a brick and mortar coffee shop. In addition to good coffee, a great atmosphere, and personable employees, Borough Coffee is a fantastic place to go and get work done. It is as if you are hanging out at a friend’s house.

It it seems like we feature it a lot, it is because they have so many events and the location is convenient to downtown, AND on-street parking is relatively easy to come by. We took this photo on Saturday when they held a makers’ market. Some of the vendors told us the hope is to hold the markets once a month. It was a lovely day and the artists, potters, book sellers, and vintage clothing vendors were very willing to interact with customers and people who just wanted to talk.
