The residential care facility, located on seven acres at 4501 Old Battleground Road, is no longer. The lot has been cleared down to the red clay, getting ready for new construction. The above photo is the house just to the left of the cleared lot. A tree has fallen and grazed the front porch. The address is no longer visible from the street. We’re betting the house will be demolished, as well as all of the outbuildings behind it.

Standing at the above property, it is as if you are in rural North Carolina. However at the next intersection, there are chain stores on every corner, and the view is indistinguishable from all the other corners along Greensboro heavy traffic roads. This property will become part of our then/now series. We’ll be curious to see what gets in and around this property. Literally, the city is changing before our eyes. Stay tuned.
