While the official Earth Day holiday is April 22, let us be reminded that every day is Earth Day. The holiday was established in 1970, marking the birth of the modern environmental movement. According to online sources, Greensboro did, indeed, take part in the inaugural Earth Day celebration. The above photo features the community gardens at Keeley Park.
This Saturday, April 25th at Keeley Park, there will be a big Earth Day celebration.* It is sponsored by the Greensboro Office of Sustainability and Resilience. Lots of community organizations will participate, there will be native plant giveaways, a kids zone will be set up, food trucks will be on site, and more. We hope you will attend. Mark your calendar and head out between the hours of noon- 4:00 p.m.
Happy Thursday!
