National Library Week

We are walking into the weekend thinking about the fact that April is National School Library Month and 19-25th is National School Library Week. The above photo features the west side on Jackson Library on the campus of UNCG. The library is about half way through the completion of extensive renovations and a complete re-envisioning of the space. Seating and teaching spaces will increase significantly. Accessability and entering the library will be improved. Twenty-first century libraries are so much more than books and study carrels.

If you get a chance, stop by a school library from a pre-school to higher education. Consider donating to a school library. Libraries play a big role in opening the world of knowledge to people of all ages and backgrounds. The Greensboro City Library network is fantastic and one of the few places where all are welcome. Let’s all do what we can to support them.

Happy Friday! Happy reading and learning!
