Education & Community Outreach Program Manager

Gwen Healy is the Education & Community Outreach Program Manager at Reconsidered Goods. The above photograph was taken in the volunteer “sorting” corner of Reconsidered Goods, a non-profit that caters to creative types who can find a use for fabric scraps, partial bottles of paint, gallon bags of corks, unwanted paintings, and other items other thrift shops aren’t likely to take. RG was also established to help keep these used materials out of landfills. The store also sells more traditional items like household goods and jewelry. They only take clothing that is vintage or costume-y.

Gwen is loving her job at RG and encourages teachers to arrange an educational experience for their students either at RG, or to arrange for an experience their school. Gwen can also help teachers set up a service learning opportunity for their students. A graduate of UNC Wilmington, Gwen was a philosophy major and has learned to think critically and communicate clearly and articulately. You will enjoy working with her. Stop by the shop at 4118 Spring Garden Street and see for yourself!

Happy Thursday!
