Guilford Courthouse National Military Park: Day 2

To continue with information about Guilford Courthouse National Military Park, we share a view of the signage at the entrance to the visitor center. As you can see from the sign, this battleground is a part of the National Park Service and the U.S. Department of Interior. The park was established in 1917* and has the distinction of being the first revolutionary war site preserved by the federal government. There is a 2.5 mile road that cars, bicycles, and walkers can take and a 4 mile foot trail through the park.

The park continues to expand, as it is able. An approximately 7.5 acre addition came by way of The Hoskins Farm. Located about aa mile west of the park, the land was approximately 150 acres. The farm’s parking lot for visitors is at 220 New Garden Road. Here is more information about this piece of land.

Can you believe this photo was taken Tuesday afternoon and in just two days, there is almost no evidence of snow?!
