To distract ourselves from the impending winter storm, yesterday afternoon, we headed to Borough Coffee to meet up with friends. We were treated to Friday afternoon music by the Sam Uhrlass Quartet playing from 4:30- 6:30 p.m. The above photo was taken at Double Oaks, located at 204 North Mendenhall St. Attending performances on the ground floor of this historic mansion is reminiscent of the lively, 19th-century parlor era.

It was so nice seeing a young crowd come out to listen to music after school and after work. Sam, a local musician who attended Northwest High School and UNCG, bills himself as a “gigging musician in the Greensboro area.” Sam’s quartet has a weekly jam session Friday afternoons at Borough Coffee.
