Horse Pen Creek Road, near Wellspring, is becoming quite the healthcare corridor. Today, we noticed workers at the top row of windows at what is soon to be a new office building, surgery, and cancer center. Officially, 2909 Horse Pen Creek Road will be the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Plaza Northwest Greensboro. They anticipate opening in early 2026, so it won’t be long.

Formerly, this was a wooded area; however, this is such a heavy growth area, it was only a matter of time until something got built here. According to the Atrium Health website, this 134,000 sq. ft. building represents a $163 million dollar investment in the Greensboro community. Atrium Health has been serving Greensboro since 2006 and now has 35 different primary, specialty, and urgent care practices here. Increasingly, they are competing with Cone Health. Competition is always healthy, isn’t it?
