Let’s have a look at downtown Greensboro on the day before New Year’s Eve. This mural, “The Power to SOAR” was painted in 2025 by Maria DeFelice Art who was born and raised in Colombia, South Carolina. Maria uses a lot of color, inspired by her 5 years in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This mural, just off of Greene Street, looks nice with the backdrop of the Lincoln Financial Group building.

If you are looking for something to do today, it is the last day of Winterfest with the Gargoyles. It is a free skating session for those with Gargoyles tickets. You can’t skate today at Piedmont Winterfest downtown, because the Curling League has the ice. But, you can go downtown and watch a game, or walk around finding public art. How will you spend the next to last day of the year?
