On Thursday night, the Greensboro Tarheel Chorus (The Barbershop Harmony Society) held a Christmas concert at New Garden Friends Meeting at 801 New Garden Road. Holiday tunes and four part harmony performances, with a few magic tricks added in, were enjoyed by all.
The Barbershop Harmony Society has been gathering, practicing, and singing in the Greensboro area since 1951. The local Quaker heritage has been established in the local area for nearly 300 years. If you like unprogrammed meetings, their 9:00- 9:45 a.m. service would be perfect for you. If you like a semi-programmed meeting for worship, the 11:00 a.m. meeting is perfect (read more HERE). At any rate, you don’t have to be a Quaker to attend events. They are a dynamic, community-oriented group. The concert was a real treat for those who love a cappella music.
Happy Sunday!
