Giant Rooster of Fairmont Avenue

Westerwood is such a special neighborhood. It was platted by developer Arthur K. Moore in 1919, just after WWI. This walkable neighborhood with ample greenery was built as a friendly, middle-class neighborhood. It remains a Greensboro favorite for people who love a friendly neighborhood and living close to town.

Fairmont Avenue has some whimsy on it, especially notable is this GIANT rooster at 1012, a small house (studio?) behind a larger house that actually faces East Lake Drive. As we walked past the other day, we were half expecting this rooster to crow. Now, that would make a good intruder detection device with an audible alarm!
