The building at 2704 Battleground Avenue first opened as a gas station in 1963, back when this stretch of road was still considered rural—north of downtown Greensboro and just south of Country Park. By 2000, the space had become Buffalo’s Bar and Grill, where it stayed for nine years. We first featured the building on Greensboro Daily Photo in 2009. A few years later, in 2012, Ray and Eddie Gramisci opened New York Pizza Bar and Grill, and as you can see from the photo, it’s still serving up New York–style pizza today.

At night, the place really shines. The reflective silver exterior and glowing lights give the building a character all its own.
