Today, as the inaugural post on WordPress, we’re featuring the iconic Lincoln Financial Group building on Greene Street. Actually, there are two buildings. The building on the right, the Jefferson Standard building, was completed in 1923. The building on the left is the Jefferson Pilot building was completed in 1990. The Lincoln Financial Group acquired the two buildings in 2006. From the 1970s to 2015, there was a private club, the Greensboro City Club, for dine dining on the 19th and 20th floor. It would be so wonderful to have a venue available to rent on those top floors. The view must be amazing.
In the foreground, you see one of The City of Greensboro’s signal boxes. The artwork is by Elliot C., a student from Jones Elementary School. Elliot’s pop of color brightens up this part of Greene Street, located in front of the recently renovated Governmental Plaza
Happy Wednesday!
