Have a Great School Year: Mr. Green

As traditional public school students head back to school today, we thought it would be fitting to feature a teacher in the Guilford County Schools. Brandon Green teaches 5th grade at Faulkner Elementary School.  His journey into the classroom is an interesting one.  After graduating from Dudley High School, Mr. Green attended East Carolina University where he majored in Film and Video Production. He went on to work as a videographer for ESPN and for local media in the Piedmont area of North Carolina. Next, Mr. Green realized he wanted to teach, and so he attended grad school at High Point University to become licensed. At first he was teaching elementary school music, but is now a classroom teacher. He uses his film and technology skills to build his students’ proficiency with technology. We are sure he is an inspiration to his students and that his classroom classroom learning environment is a special experience. From writing songs, to singing, to recording, to sewing, to designing clothing, Mr. Green can do anything he sets his mind to. His students are so lucky to work with him. We’re betting his determined, “can do” mind set is an inspiration to his students.

Here, Mr. Green is photographed in front of the Hector Pieterson Museum in Orlando West, Soweto, South Africa. He was visiting the museum as part of the Fulbright-Hays cohort traveling to South Africa this summer. Guilford College secured a Group Projects Abroad grant and Mr. Green was one of the nine participants. Thanks to his videography skills, he was able to make a documentary about the group’s  experience. We’re betting he will share a lot of photos and information about South Africa with his students. Here’s to a great school year, Mr. Green for you and your students.

Have a great 2025-2026 school year, everyone!
