With the extra hours of daylight in the summer, somehow, getting up early for breakfast seems easy. The above photo features a breakfast crew in front of the Jake’s Diner at 4220 West Wendover Avenue, between Costco and I-40. These guys looked like they knew each other well and that they were really enjoying being together. Breakfast tends to be a little more affordable than other meals; there are plenty of great options in Greensboro, at all price points..
We’ve eaten breakfast out a lot this summer, usually trying a different place each time. All of the options, from downtown, to about 5 miles away from downtown in all directions, have been great. One of the best money values was Bagner and Alexa’s Breakfast & Lunch, where an order of two eggs, one piece of toast, home fries, and a meat was under $7: The Spartan Special. This is a logical name for a special at a restaurant just west of campus on Spring Garden Street. Today is the last day of July. Can you believe it? Let’s all celebrate and take a friend/loved one out to breakfast.
Happy Thursday!
