Here was yesterday’s view of Spring Garden Street at the Downtown Greenway below South Edgeworth Street. They are working on the exit ramp from downtown to Spring Garden Street, putting in storm drain pipes and the path for the greenway to continue. This area is known as The Morehead Park Trailhead, and the exact location is 475 Spring Garden Street. This little park is put to good use during the summer. We’ve been to yoga classes and to bike meet ups there. The painted, cement substructure below the highway- framing the photo above- is very attractive and makes a great backdrop for photos.

This part of the greenway is  near the former Morehead Foundry that, unfortunately, is still empty. That building is such a great location with ample parking. It would be nice to see it in use again. When on site yesterday, we forgot to ask how long it will take for the project to be completed; but, it looks like it might be a while. For sure, it will be worth it.
