Meeting Place is a piece of public artwork on the greenway, downtown, at the corner of West Smith Street and Prescott Street. The shape evokes the form of the tents used in the Revolutionary War. The ceiling is stainless wheel, with letters cut in the font of Nathaneal Greene’s handwriting. Notice that the words are legible on the ground when the sun is shining. We featured this area of the greenway yesterday; however, in researching today’s post, we learned that 19 different fruit trees and other edibles are planted here.
This artwork and resting space was conceptualized and designed by the husband and wife team, Mags Harries and Lajos Heder. The couple is from Massachusetts and they have created 30 works of public art. Read more about their artwork HERE.
