In preparing this post for today and researching this “barrber” shop, we realized that we actually featured it seven years ago. It is located in the Glenwood neighborhood at 1106 Glenwood Avenue. The owner is William L Byers, Jr. and, in true barber fashion, he cuts, styles, shaves, and provides facial treatments.While the above discounted prices haven’t changed, the facade has changed tremendously (see HERE)! How wonderful that the shop is still in business and that they are able to offer discounts to seniors, children, and college students.

The more things change in Greensboro, the nicer it is that some things stay the same. There are stylists, salons, and old-school, traditionally for men/by men barber shops. The above is, indeed, a barber shop. Glenwood Barrber Shop is celebrating its 15th year this year. To be sure, they’ve seen some changes in their neighborhood- hinting at gentrification. The barber shop  open today at 9:00 am if you need a haircut. They have a Facebook page if you want to get to know the barbers and their humor. Here’s to the next 15 years fellows
