Last year, Triad Goodwill received more that 25 million pounds of donations. We’re guessing once the donations get pulled from the shelves of the “regular” Goodwill stores, they move on to the by-the-pound Goodwill. Their ads, however, say that it is the same quality as in their retail stores. Definitely, the by-the-pound venture takes treasure hunting to the next level. The above outlet is located at 1235 South Eugene Street. Clothing, shoes, stuffed animals, and toys are sold at $1.59 a pound, and household goods, furniture, electronics, etc. are 79¢ a pound. Our big take-away, however, is the fact that in the Greensboro area alone, more than 25 million pounds were donated to Goodwill. Over-consumption is definitely an issue; however, as we learn to reduce consumption, reusing and recycling helps. Wondering just how long we could go without making purchases of non-essentials!
