Have you ever driven behind a truck full of liquid nitrogen? It is so interesting. That black sign below the green one reads, “venting of vapor is normal during operation.” We’re sure people have called on more than one occasion saying that a truck was “smoking.” If you look at the street signs on the left, you can see that the vehicle was at the corner of Josephine Boyd and Oakland Avenue. The truck was quite large and the driver masterfully made that left turn. It took a while, but he did it. Airgas uses cryogenic storage dewars (vacuum flasks) to transport very cold liquid gasses.

Sometimes while out driving, it is easy to hyper focus on getting from Point A to Point B; however, when you stop and observe just what vehicles are around you and what they are doing, it is really interesting. We’ve never seen an Airgas truck before, but then maybe we’ve just never noticed. According to the internet, there is a store on East Market Street. Since this large truck was turning onto Oakland between UNCG and the railroad tracks, we’re betting they were filling an order for UNCG. Actually, just possibly, it was turning because it would not fit under the underpass over Josephine Boyd. At any rate, it was interesting waiting behind the truck that looked like it was vaping!
