The first Trader Joe’s grocery store opened in Pasadena California in 1967. Fast forward fifty-two years and Greensboro is getting its first Trader Joe’s. The company has been trying to find a space in Greensboro for a few years. You may remember that they were trying to build a store near Friendly Center. At last they have found a space in Brassfield Shopping Center.
Trader Joe’s is known for its food and drink selections from around the world. People in Greensboro are no longer going to have to drive to Winston-Salem for fall leaf tortilla chips, cinnamon bun spread, Ube ice cream, outside-in stuffed gnocchi, broccoli & kale pizza, and more! Brass field Cinema has the best price in town. Brassfield has struggled with occupancy since Phar-Mor Drug Store closed nearly 20 years ago. Trader Joe’s should be just the right store for the plaza. Before you know it, people can shop bargains at Stein-Mart, buy specialty groceries at Trader Joe’s and take in a movie, all without moving the car. How fun!
