Magnolia trees are an iconic part of the Greensboro landscape. Usually, they are photographed with their velvety, aromatic white blossoms spreading out over the glossy green leaves. As evergreens, they have something to offer the landscape every month of the year. The above photo from yesterday afternoon shows one of the pink fuzzy pods next to one that has gone to seed. The bright red berries burst from the seed pods and really stand out, adding a pop of color as we all wait for leaves to start changing. Squirrels and birds love the magnolia fruit.

If you are interested, we’d be happy to try to get you some seeds. It would be fun to monitor the progress! Happy Monday, dear readers.
