Heading South, DOWNTOWN, On Highway 220

Over the couple of decades, North Battleground has gone from seeming like a sleepy little part of Greensboro, far from downtown to a busy access road to the Greensboro Urban Loop. Highway 220 is the north/south road stretching from Rockingham, NC in Richmond County, to its interchange with New York State Route 17.

The above photo was taken yesterday, at about 6:30 pm, when the bright sun, low to the horizon brought out the color in everything. Earlier in the day, it actually snowed in Greensboro. It isn’t very common for us to have an April snow. Fortunately, temperatures didn’t drop below freezing and it seems that the blossoms may have been spared. While today’s photo has no sign of vegetation, that beautiful sky lets us know that nature is glorious!
