After a long day at work, what could do more to perk one up than to sit at a coffee shop, sip coffee, chat with friends- either well established friends or new ones? Joy is in abundance at The People’s Perk coffee shop on South Mendenhall Street. Karen, the ebullient proprietor is always on hand to brighten your day. Works of art adorn the walls, the coffee is great, and there is this fabulous sketch book where customers share their thoughts. 

Today’s coffee shop philosophy is brought to us by a generous, anonymous (Greensboro?) artist. The stylized fonts read “WITH freedom, books, flowers, and the moon, WHO COULD NOT BE happy? As you enter the weekend, whether totally stressed & worried, totally content, or somewhere in between, ponder freedom, books, flowers, the moon and other things that make you happy.
