Students in Greensboro Protest in Support of the Movement Started By Parkland Students

Student leaders spoke and encouraged students to participate in the March 24th March. The 1961 Greensboro Sit-Ins were referenced, reminding the assembled group of the power of students who protest and work for change. UNCG Communications Professor Spoma Jovanovic (left with light blue jacket)  also helped with the walk out. This was one small ripple in the nationwide movement. Today’s youth is mobilizing to be socially and politically active. They are articulate, and determined to have their voices heard. The nation will be well served if people in power listen to what students have to say. The event took place in front of the Curry Building, a highly visible spot on a small hill beside Spring Garden Street. #NationalSchoolWalkout
