Surprise Snow in Greensboro

There was a mention of a possible snow on Monday and, sure enough, before noon yesterday, it started to accumulate. It is not unusual for Greensboro to get one last weather event in March. The Guilford County Schools were closed in anticipation of snow and UNCG closed at noon. Other schools followed suit. Temperatures hovered right around freezing. The above photo shows the snow as it was beginning to fall on Cone Boulevard. The trees look white, because they are in full blossom. Hopefully, the snow won’t damage the trees.

The first day of spring is March 20th. Surely, this will be the last snow event of the year. Stay warm; stay safe!
