This 1,600 sq. ft. house at 305 South Elam is representative of the charm in the Lindley Park neighborhood. The 1926 single-story home has been well maintained. Details like the wooden swing in the mature oak tree, the cozy front porch, the whitewashed fence, and the bushes that continue to flower all come together to add curb appeal. The mature oak tree, gently curved, high above the house, could well have been planted at the time John Van Lindley lived in the neighborhood. He was the nurseryman who, in the early 20th century, owned 900 acres in this area.

The house is located across the street from the First Moravian Church, which is the reason we first notice it on Saturday. It is amazing the details that are noticed while walking through a neighborhood, as opposed to driving. Perhaps the best feature of this home is being able to sit on the porch and see all of the lively activity at the Moravian Church, especially during the Advent season.
