February 1 Place and South Elm Street is a beautiful, yesteryear view of downtown. The International Civil Rights Museum is on the left, the Chamber of Commerce is on the right, and that fabulous Carlyle & Co/Rolex clock is in front of us. Today is Black Friday and shoppers will be everywhere, especially at the malls and shopping centers. However, tomorrow is Small Business Saturday. If you are not downtown today, we hope you will come downtown tomorrow to shop in some of the locally owned stores. Downtown, or elsewhere, it is so important to support our small, locally owned businesses. Those dollars are much more likely to stay in Greensboro when you shop the mom and pop stores.
