When you count all of the buildings, parking, and play area, Our Lady of Grace (OLG) Catholic Church takes up a whole block on West Market Street. The church was built with funds donated by Julian Price and his children in memory of  Ethel Price, Julian’s wife, a lifelong Catholic, who died in 1943. The church was constructed in 1952. Mr. Price, an executive with Jefferson Standard Life Insurance Company,  died in a car accident in 1946, before the church was constructed in 1952. The tudor style house above, on the east end of the property, looks like it predates the church. This is a side view of the house where they have the built a flower garden with a statue of the Virgin Mary. Mary diligently keeps her eye on St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church across the street.

We’re not sure what the house is used for, but is well maintained, and its yard is always trimmed. Every time we drive by OLG we notice something different. It wasn’t until we attended an event at St. Andrew’s that we noticed this statue.
