Community Theatre of Greensboro at South Elm St

Community Theatre of Greensboro (CTG) worked hard for many years to have their own space. They are now in the above building at 520 South Elm Street. Today’s photo features not only the beautiful theatre, but also the dynamic energy of a Saturday afternoon on Elm Street. A man and his daughters walk by CTG as two workers from the City of Greensboro prepare to remove two of the hanging baskets. Those baskets have been carefully cared for all summer long, but it is time to remove them before the cold weather sets in.

CTG brings great theatre to Greensboro and helps people young and old live their dream of acting and and performing. Founded in 1949, it is the oldest arts organization in Guilford County. They have recently cast the 23rd annual The Wizard of Oz, which 10,000 people will flock to see in November. Most immediately, however, they are preparing for the performances of “A Night at the Wax Museum” which opens next week on Friday the 13th. If you haven’t been to a production in the new building, you owe it to yourself to attend something soon! Exciting things are happening in the 500 block of South Elm Street. Exciting things are happening behind those red, double doors!
