Happy Valentine’s Day from Greensboro, North Carolina.
Locally, temperatures have been unseasonably warm this week. By day, temperatures have ranged from the 40’s-80’s. By night, they are averaging from just below freezing up to the 40’s. Trees are starting to bud and the treasured colors of spring are popping up all around Greensboro. According to the calendar of the Cooperative Extension at N.C. State, in this region, February is prime time to prune fruit trees to ensure the best fruit production. However, pruning now seems almost too late as some trees in full bloom.
As a matter of fact, if you haven’t already purchased flowers for your special Valentine, you still have time to head outside and cut some fresh buds. If you want something more conventional, try one of our locally owned florists, like Scrugg’s Florist. They been serving Greensboro for over 60 years.
