Glorious Fall Day

Yesterday, the weather in Greensboro was just about as glorious as a fall day gets- at least the days before the leaves start changing. After a few days of drenching rains from Hurricane Matthew, Greensboro residents were ready to get out and take advantage of the nice day. The above photo was taken on the loop at Guilford Military Park. As seen in the above photo, this trail is 1.7 miles of peace and tranquility. Many people were out walking with friends, family, and trusty canines and there were several people riding bicycles.

It is said that walking is really good for one’s health. There was even an article in the New York Times, entitled, “How walking in Nature Changes the Brain.”  It increases the blood flow to the brain and soothes the mind. Guilford Military Park, located off of Highway 220, just happens to be 220 acres; 220 acres much appreciated by the nearly half-a-million people who use regularly.*
