Food Truck Festival

Last Sunday’s Food Truck Festival in downtown Greensboro was a big hit. There were over 60 trucks of about every kind of food imaginable spilled out over Market and Greene Streets. Venders came from throughout the State. The weather was perfect, warm and sunny, and there were several events going on  at the same time. The event was a fundraiser for Merit Pit Bull Foundation, a group that has been working to rescue pit bulls since 2012.

As you can see from the above photo, the event was well attended. It was so popular, it seems it could be held every Sunday afternoon in the summer. Most of the downtown brick and mortar restaurants are closed on Sunday afternoon and those that are open should be allowed to set up at the food festival. The event attracts many people who might not otherwise spend much time (or money) downtown.

A heartfelt thank you to all involved in helping with the event. Greensboro has many volunteers as we are about to see this next weekend during the National Fold Festival to be held downtown. We are so lucky to live in this great community.
