John Anderson

John Anderson performed at the Carolina Theatre on Thursday night. It was an acoustic set with only the above guitar/dobro player on stage with him. The two sounded great together. They performed traditional country music, showcasing John Anderson’s voice. As he reminded us, without the full band, the audience had a chance to hear the songs as they were written; not as they were recorded in the studio. The Greensboro crowd in attendance was very well versed on the songs he played.

While Swingin’, his most famous song, the two delighted the house with other tried-and true hits like Wild and Blue, Seminole Wind, and Would You Catch A Falling Star. His final, encore song was Chicken Truck and, by that time, people were in the aisles just a dancin’ and a swingin’.

If you ever have a chance to hear John Anderson play, do so. He is a legend. If you ever have a chance to attend an event at the Carolina Theatre, do so. It, too, is legendary.
