First Baptist, Illuminated

Downtown Greensboro was hopping last night– especially Elm Street. Mack and Mack was hosting a concert; Triad Stage was featuring the world premiere of  “Radiunt Abundunt”; the Empire Room was hopping with events; and so much more was happening. After attending “Radiunt Abundant” and completing a photo shoot on Elm Street, we drove past the First Baptist Church of Greensboro. Located at 1000 West Friendly Avenue, First Baptist looked so calm and pretty at night, reminding us that they will be there, for all who are interested, on Sunday morning.  This morning the church will be teeming with people.

The First Baptist Church is a pre-Civil War institution. It has been in Greensboro since 1859. They have a very interesting history, available online (here). You can also learn more about the history by attending in person. First Baptist, with its white steeple, is beautiful when illuminated, especially against the backdrop of a clear winter sky at night.
