Today is the seventh anniversary of Greensboro Daily Photo. Seven years ago, we decided to join the City Daily Photo initiative, started by Eric Tenin of Paris Daily Photo, and have enjoyed showcasing the beauty of Greensboro to the rest of the world. We have regular readers as close as Greensboro and as far as Jerusalem and Moscow. We have published a photo a day for seven years without missing a day; that rounds out to over 2,500 photos of Greensboro.  Through the years, GDP has brought us closer to the community. We have had so many wonderful experiences, attending events and interviewing people. 

On the blog, we bill ourselves as Mr. and Mrs. GDP. My husband, David, takes care of the technical aspects of the website. Professionally, he is a commercial pilot. As for me (Janis), I am a teacher and have taught every grade from Kindergarten to doctoral students. I love the challenge of making lessons meaningful and relevant, regardless of the age of the learners. On the blog, I take the photos, conduct the interviews, and put together the text that accompanies the photos. GDP is our way of giving back to Greensboro while doing something as a couple. Both of us enjoy traveling, but love calling Greensboro home.
