Palm Street Christian Church

Palm Street Christian Church is located just off of State Street. While this is not the original building, the architecture is typical of small, community churches today. Usually, they are either wooden churches painted white or red brick. Usually, they have spires with crosses at the top, so that they are visible, beacons from afar.

The above photo was taken on the Bradford Street side of the church, late Saturday afternoon. In the center of the photo, an exuberant, young church member can be seen dashing off to get something. This church was founded in 1905 and was rebuilt in 1950. The surrounding neighborhood is known as McAdoo Heights and was at one time part of a lively textile mill community. While the make-up of the neighborhood and church have changed over the last century, both are still lively. Here is a photo of the front side of the church. The pastor is Don Clement and he should be there to deliver a spiritual message at 11:00 a.m. today, if you are looking for a church in Greensboro. Happy Sunday!
