The people make Greensboro a great place to live. The above photo features a night tour on Elm Street and it says so much about our city. First, about fourteen people were participating in the tour, showing how comfortable we are being out at night. Second, most are wearing blue jeans and the Cone brothers turned Greensboro into a jeans/denim empire. Third, our city takes on a beautiful patina at night; and look at the intensity of the denim under the glow of the streetlights. The night of the photo, Carolina History & Haunts was offering a tour called Nightmares Around Elm Street, a play on words from the famous movie Nightmare on Elm Street.
Today, we’re faced with a dilemma, because it is a double theme day. The City Daily Photo community’s 1st of the month theme day for February 2015 is to show a photo of what we would miss most about our city if we moved. Also, on Sundays, at GDP, we always post something of a religious/spiritual nature. Now… to combine the two themes. Were we to move from Greensboro, above all, we would miss the PEOPLE, and what is more spiritual than spending time in fellowship with others? All places of worship depend on people to fill them and to do good deeds in their name. So, would miss you, dear Greensboro residents, if we left!
Happy February 1st to all y’all– our local visitors as well as to our friends from the City Daily Photo community.
