T is for Trees

The above trees were glowing brightly in the parking lot near Arigato and Earthfare on Battleground Avenue. Trees are natures filtation system. They purify the air and provide us with oxygen. They help reduce erosion and moderate the climate. They are a habitat for many critters, provide relief from the summer sun; playing an important role in the ecosystem. From the science of bonsai to the art of painting and drawing them, trees provide great visual appeal. As Greensboro continues to grow, it will be crucial to plan our green spaces and to plan space for trees.

Today is ABC Wednesday and, for our S.T.E.A.M. Round, “T” is for trees. As you prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow, say a little thanks for the beauty of trees and all they do for us. And, as we enter the season of leafless trees, let us remember that spring is a mere four months away!
