Sunrise, Sunset, and New Beginnings

Yesterday morning had just a hint of a chill in the air, perfect for going back to school. The above sunset came yesterday, the evening of the first day back to school. As with the beginning of all school years, there are many changes. This year in Guilford County, seventeen schools got new principals. Twenty one Teach for America members have filled teaching positions.

On a very special note, Grimsley’s Hebrew teacher, Rina Wolfgang,  got trained to teach  international baccalaureate Hebrew. This effort is to be celebrated especially in light of the fact Ms. Wolgfang is battling cancer.* Ms. Wolfgang is one of those teachers who makes going back to school special. Let’s wish her luck in her cancer treatments and let’s hope her students appreciate how much teaching means to her. Here’s to beautiful sunrises, fabulous sunsets, and great learning in between. Oh, happy school days! This is always such a hopeful time.
