This sign of Wesley Long Hospital, a part of Cone Health, was taken earlier in the summer. This sign is located on the Friendly Avenue end of the hospital, near Elam. It is so east to overlook something like this sign, until you need to find what is advertised on it. The 175-bed hospital has added so much space and so many features since it opened over 90 years ago. Founded by Dr. John Wesley Long *in 1917, it opened as a 20-bed clinic. According to their website, the new emergency center alone boasts over 29,000 square feet. The one thing it would be nice for the hospital to add would be one of those signs that let you know approximately how long your wait will be, should you need their services. 

If you work there, you know that, while today is Monday, your work week might have started on Friday night, Saturday, or Sunday. Emergencies don’t limit themselves to 9-5, Monday- Friday. Here is a great big thank you for anyone who works to keep Greensboro healthy. Come flu season, we’ll all really be singing your praises!
