For the children of Guilford County, summer is quickly winding down. Classes begin on Thursday, August 25th and from that point on, it will be 180 days of academic rigor. We’ve already had our tax free weekend for buying back-to-school clothes and other necessities. Children are trying hard to save their shoes and new outfits for those first days. Students are scrambling to finish their summer reading lists. If you have European History this fall, you are learning that Portugal is next to Spain is next to France is next to Germany is next to Poland… the Genesis of map skills. We encourage all to take a few days and commit to some unadulterated summer fun. Follow the lead of the children above and hula hoop, twirl ribbons, and run aimlessly squealing in delight. 

The above photo was taken back at the Summer Solstice Event in the Greensboro Arboretum. Before you know it, this very spot will be hosting girl scouts setting up for their December Candlefest.
