Take Us Out To the Ball Game

The Greensboro Grasshoppers are out of town this weekend leaving us with a BEAUTIFUL, but empty, stadium. It has been six years since this stadium opened its doors on April 3, 2005. Time flies when you are playing ball. Seating capacity in New Bridge Bank Park stadium is 7,499; however, with all of the picnic and grassy berm areas, more people can fit, if needed. The opening day crowd was 8,540. Greensboro loves its minor-league baseball.

This scene, outside the entrance gate on the Bellemeade Street side, would be perfect for a photo shoot with the little baseball players in your life. To small children, these larger-than-life baseballs feel like the scene in Gulliver’s Travels where Gulliver lands in Brobdingnag, the land of big people.

Here is the Grasshoppers’ schedule. They’ll be back in town next week. What a great way to wind down your summer and have some good, AFFORDABLE family fun!. Today, we’re pitching this photo over at Skywatch Friday where hundreds of people worldwide share a view of the sky above their town.
