The Major Taylor Trek Ride departs from the Trek Bike Shop at 3721 Battleground Avenue on Tuesdays– 6-7:30 p.m. They are an inclusive group and encourage riders of of all skill levels. You must wear a helmet and have front and rear lights. You don’t have to have the t-shirt, but they sure command a visible presence as the group cycles by.

Marshall “Major” Taylor was a Black American cyclist who won a world championship in cycling in 1889. He was the fastest cyclist of his era. The Major Taylor Cycling Club has an active Facebook group if you are interested in learning more about them. Spring is such a lovely time to ride a bicycle in Greensboro and there are many options.
