Zoë Parson: Studying to Become a Physical Therapist

Today we’re featuring Zoë Parson a student in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Winston Salem State University (WSSU). Zoë spoke yesterday at her high school alma mater, the Middle College at UNCG. The theme of MCUNCG is health and life sciences. Zoë’s presentation resonated with the high school students who are considering their own career trajectories.

Zoë earned her undergraduate degree from UNC Charlotte, where she majored in Health Systems Management. From there, she entered the physical therapy program at WSSU. When asked how it is she wanted to become a physical therapist, she said she loves the rehabilitation process and having the opportunity to help people on their journey to improve mobility and reduce pain. Also, only 5% of physical therapists are Black and Zoë says she is proud to be part of that group. Truly, she is a role model. Upon receiving her doctorate, she hopes to practice in Charlotte. Best of luck soon-to-be DPT Parson!

Happy Thursday!
