Weekend Fun on Elm Street

This is the last weekend before Christmas and the sixth night of Hanukkah and Rosh Chodesh Tevet (the new moon of the month of Tevet). The 6th night of Hanukkah incorporates the opportunity to think about charity, newness, and universal light. On December 21st, on the Winter Solstice, Muslims will celebrate the start of the Holy month, Rajab.

The above photo was taken a couple of weeks ago at First Friday and the Festival of Light downtown on Elm Street. This street scene, and the December holidays, remind us that in the darkness of winter, we need to find ways to celebrate each other, make our own light, and to be the light! May we all reflect on being the best versions of ourselves during this time of year with so much darkness. The Joy Squad Photo Booth Experience is available locally. What a great way to have fun and bring people together. Maybe we should have it every First Friday! What will you be up to tonight?

Happy Friday!
