Carpet of Camellia Petals

Today’s photo was taken on Sunday on Lipscomb Road just off of Muir’s Chapel. We were driving, saw these camellia petals, and had to stop and walk back to admire the carpet of petals in person. This photo captures the drama of the shadows and the coverage; however, the pink was much more spectacular in person. A neighbor standing outside across the street said the view is so beautiful she has to come out every day and admire it.

The Lipscomb Road.area of Greensboro is associated with Hamilton Lakes. The homes in the area are well maintained and mostly single story brick. They were built around the 1950s and owners really keep up the yards. This photo was taken at 4:16 p.m. when the sun was already getting close to the horizon. Those long shadows are a special feature of fall and winter.

Happy Tuesday!
